Starting new...These initial phase one planting beds were constructed to create areas for immediate color delights for perennial gardens. An anchor evergreen tree, along with shrubs were planted for scale and interest. Boulders used in retaining walls and smaller rocks for bed edges were collected from the neighborhoods new home excavation piles.
My repeat client moved to this new home, in a developing neighborhood devoid of all the botanical delights of their previous home and landscape. Our design objectives were to establish elements of what she missed...the shade of mature trees, shrub buffers proving privacy, and numerous gardens filled with years of plant collections of specialty perennials, ground covers and bulb plantings.
